Hey geys

Had crank cancer put new gear/keyway and new rod bearings 20k ago well crank cancer is back and worse. new gear presses on then spins freely where it should be sitting. So picked up a low mile used crank and dint know if I could reuse rods bearings off my crank or put in new ones if I can find them

Thanks

Being that you're putting in a different, unknown crank, you can re-use the newer rod bearings but you will need to plasti-gage not only the rod journals, but also the mains.

Are you not tightening the crank bolt enough? Ideally, that key does not see any load when in use.

Awesome thanks Tom. And jason when I first got the car it had crank cancer and I fixed it but timing gear wasn't as tight as I wanted it but was in a pinch and I do believe I just HE MANED IT putting the bolt on because I was running late like a dummy. Well I know what I'm doing when I'm off next

For $50 bux, I would put new rod bearings in.

If you can tell me where to find a set of new standard rod bearings for 50 bucks I'll buy them the cheapest I found was RCM for like 63 but I would gladly give Shosource 73 before RCM every time. RCM its a waiting game and no communication.

Really? I just bought rod bearings and piston rings from them 2 weeks ago got my parts in 2-3days . Then last week bought head gaskets and bolts and again 2-3days.

Maybe things changed. Last time I used them I waited almost a month for my parts. Maybe I'll give them another shot

I too would just put new ones in. Even at $75, its a very good idea. And I would plastigage the mains too as Tom indicated.
