I remember reading on here one time that it can be repaired, mine still sounds ok just has a slight hint of being blown.Anyone know if they can be repaired or do i just need to repalce it? Next option would be to put my 10'' box an alpine amp in it but need to see what it will take to keep the stock headunit. Dont want to shell cash out right now for a new headunit

I wouldnt bother. I had an mtx 8" that i fitted into the stock box. Sounds ok for now. The box did require a bit of enlarging to fit the 8 vice the 6''. Good luck.

If your sub is blown, you're going to have to replace it. These days when you blow a sub, most manufacturers hardly ever repair subs anymore, they just replace em because they're not worth it. I doubt you could find anyone to repair it.

IIRC, some people have successfully repaired the cones and the surrounds.

A bit of a cheaper (and not so long-term) repair job. Try hot glue on the ripped portions of the foam/cloth. I did that with mine and its lasted me 6 months so far. Still have my bass turned way up and sounds better than it did when I bought the car a few years ago (before it blew).

The stock sub is repairable if part of the foam surround has separated from the cone. I used Krazy Glue to re-join the foam surround to the cone where it had separated, and to reinforce the areas that had yet to separate. I then put a thin coat of silicone sealant over the area where the cone meets the surround.

I did this several years ago and the sub still sounds good.

Well took the box out tonight and find that there isn't even a JBL sub in there. Seems it was replaced before and they put a 6.5 super pro sub in it. Looked it up online and its a 11.95 sub lol so no wonder it doesnt sound that great, Plan on ordering a JBL from my local dealer in the morning
