Seen the car from the road. REAL Sharp. Same car. Do some of the cars not have clear coat? The 93 green seems to have weathered differently from the 89.

ps just got a set of moog coils for the rear of the 89 on ebay for $25 new. Was that any of you folks?

Well all, warmer weather is arriving.
Even if slowly.
I guess I did a quick one step on her in 2007.
But I'll have to do a complete 3 step this year.
The car sat outside all year and ain't up to *****.
I did have the headliner redone and and will be finishing the interior next.
Then some mechanical followed by exterior detailing.
I'll be posting before and after photos asap.
Till then, here are some from last years quick one step.

What about White?

Great reward for your efforts! Very Nice Job !! :thumb:

Now, my question for you guys is this... What about White Paint (90 sho / no CC) and the stains that get into the paint ... bumper, grille, ect... How well would the 3 step work to remove the stains in the paint? anyone tried this on white? pics? (I also have 95 SLO thats even worse... practice!)

Anyone have other recommendation of what needs to be done to get the stains out?
(excluding a paint job... I want Moonlight Blue... but, $$$$)

Thanks!

Awesome work, trully inspiring! Thanks for sharing, that SHO is beautiful and if I had the extra cash there's no doubt in my mind I'd be heading up to snatch it. Definitely no BS, look at the SHOs trunklid, top left, original dealer emblem. :)

damn rust free US cars... lol nice work but next thing on the list (if you werent selling) is new headlights, those take away from the brand new look you have going for you. i will definatly give this a try on my 89 but i will need a repaintanyways, i have rust issues and a plus hood and spoiler that need to be painted. im such a DIY kind of person i want to paint it myself i just dont want it to look like crap. anyways awsome job!!

Thanks for all the kind words.

Tomuza - A good cleaner should take care of the stains.
Start with the mildest cleaner and increase harshness as needed.
And be prepared to rub.

SHO DOODmorrris - Head lamps are on my list to do.
I have NOS, good used or I could polish the existing units.

angelsmaybleed - I use Maguires.
Start with #2 cleaner then their hand polish then #26 yellow wax.
You'll go thru alot of applicators thou pulling the dead paint off.
And be prepared to rub like you've never rubbed before.
The difficult step is the cleaner, the last two step are easier.

I guess I can now state it's for sale, see link - http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=86935

How will this 3 stage stuff work on a dull, silver/gray cheapy paint job? When I first got my SHO, I clayed it and waxed it with Zymol and there was little to no difference. I am not sure if this re-paint has clearcoat on it or not; it's VERY dull and in certain areas like the LR door, the paint just flakes off.

Just wondering in case my sell falls through and I wind up keeping the car. Honestly, it needs a new paint job but wondered if it was even worth attempting this 3 stage polish and wax.

Sandpaper will take you down to primer pretty quickly. And sure, rattle can with cc will be ok, ok for what I dont know. Chances are it wont look too great, and unless you use quality stuff and do it all correctly, theres a good chance it wont last long at all. But the rattle can and cc will look better than a grossly pealing CC.

Hard to say without pictures, you say the paint is flaking off? Most bad paintjobs can be made to look decent though, just takes alot of work.

Yeah, paint is bubbling and flaking mostly around the lower door trim pieces and under the LR door handle. I think I'd have a whole new attitude toward the car if it had a $1000 paint job in the original Lt. Titanium and new headlights; then maybe I wouldn't complain about it as much. The hood, roof, and trunk are a little more dull than the rest of the car since it supposedly sat outside for years. I have pictures on my Trader ad (you'll have to probably search back a couple months).

There is no substitution for good paint.
I've seen more than one repaint when the factory paint could have been brought back.
And the repaint was ... well no good.
Factory paint is always the best.
If your paint is like I'm thinking, then not much can be done short of starting with a fine grit sandpaper.
Or save for a repaint, a good repaint.
My 91+ is missing nearly all clear coat on all top surfaces.
I'm in the same boat as you.
But for now I'm glad it's not down past the primer.

Factory paint is always the best? Hah.

Totally right though, ask around locally, maybe find a friend who knows a friend who paints. Alot of people do it as a bit of a sidejob. Get someone reputable, and expect to spend some money. Can often be cheaper if you do some of the work yourself like removing mouldings and other minor body work.

WTF are you talking about? Everyone on here who questioned the origins of the car were obviously kidding, myself included as indicated by th j/k in my post. I see nothing but compliments, perhaps you have posted in the wrong thread?
