Reinforced motor mount or paperweight????

We looked at the pictures, and SHO Nut wants to get the mount so he can try to install it and identify the interference. We sent you the shipping address, and we will see what interferance issues he finds.

I understand your frustration when a part does not fit like you think it should. I have fought a part for hours or days to have a friend come over and install it in a few seconds. Likewise, I have been that person who has watched someone struggle with an oil pan install until they give up, only to have me just lift it into place. With three people trying and failing, there has to be an issue, but this would be a first for any fitment issues I have seen on a motor mount.

As soon as Josh gets a look at the mount, we will let you know what he finds.

wow im sorry to hear all that but ive had some prb with part ( mostly bill since im in canada ) but ive ordered and all part came in and fast too

and my 2 mount front and rear

gone to 3 big mecanic garage (banner) and they could not have done it

went to a friend a know and old geazer but with out removing anything not even the damn sub frame he raise the engine and replace my 2 mount in about 1 hr lol

man that guy was fast as **** amd i remember the part where the same as my old mount except it did not move 1 inch wich made it hard to guide in

so yeah if the put the sub frame out off alignement and the mount is too stiff to compensate for the way it sit

they should have removed all 4 corner off the subframe and held the engine in place and then put all the part you need on there and put it back in straigt up the same as i did on my 3.8 taurus (mustang engine ) and those where still a pita to put in

All you need is a engine hoist from top to be able to move engine around(or jack under oil pan) and then remove both mm nut and even loosen trans mount so engine is loose and movable and another person. This other person is key to engine movement so you can align all mounts and bolts. If a mechanic can't put a mm on he's not a mechanic.........the rear mm was one of the worst jobs i ever had to do on all my shos, the mm is fine...patience is the problem here....i think.

i've always been able to do both front and rear myself, although they've often given me fits...especially once they were reinforced and tight. i thought i messed up my rear mount, but then i got the right combination of movement with the engine and it dropped in place.

Got the mount today. It was a tight squeeze to slide it over the mounting bracket, but that's expected. Once it was slid over, I threaded the bolts in with my fingers, first try.

I bought an Anchor front ATX mount. Wouldn't fit. Top plate was at the wrong angle, so I had to wallow out the top two holes with a drill to let the bolts go through. Not really the same situation as this one, but shit happens, I suppose.

In the very beginning, the owner had 2 mounts, his new Shonut mount and his old worn out mount.
It would have been appropriate to put the two side by side and see if there are any differences. Even if the old mount was torn in two, there would have been enough left to spot a difference. But the old mount got put back in place to demonstrate that the new mount was cantankerous, so it must have been whole.
If the two mounts looked the same and measured the same, I would have tried hard to install it. If the 2 mounts did not measure the same, I would have sent it back and asked for another, and racked it up to an honest mistake. I had to do that with brake pads recently, and it is not so bad.
Everybody that works on, or sells parts for, SHOs can have a bad day every now and then.

that reinforced mount doesnt look very good, i bought a two part mixture to fill it in, drilled two bolts throught it and it is rock solid.. guaranteed mine will never break. ive heard of people busting the reinforced ones form sho nut and sho source!!
