Awhile ago, I had my CCRM and connector replaced because of a complete meltdown. The mechanic I had do this also "reflashed the PCM." Now, I've always had this problem with the cooling fans turning on immediately when the Defrost turned on. Even If i go to turn the Defrost off, sometimes they don't turn off until the car is turned off. I finally got around to trying to replace the CCRM with another one to see if the original replacement was defective and it still does it. My question is, can an OBD I SHO even have it's PCM flashed? I didn't think you could do that to an OBD I. And I'm thinking I'll just drop by at the mechanics and ask them to reflash it real quick again. Is It worth a try? This isn't a problem, per say, just really annoying. Thanks!

No, no reflash. He might have disconnected the battery for a while to clear the KAM (Keep alive memory)

Got any pictures of the connector replacement?

Fans should turn on with defrost AFAIK, as that will still cycle the A/C compressor. Or at least they should kick on and off. Sounds like a bum CCRM if they come on and just stay on.

Yeah, I'll get a picture of the wiring later if I get a chance. They thing that makes me think its not the CCRM is the fact that I've had two different ones in there and it did it. The only other things left is the wiring or the PCM.

Did he charge you to change your blinker fluid too? You got screwed.

And yes, the fans will cycle with the A/C compressor when the climate control is set to defrost.

Yes, my blinker fluid was old and needed changing:nut:. The thing is that the fans don't cycle. They stay on. And it can be 30 degrees outside and they will still blow at full speed.
