I already posted this on TCCA but was hoping someone could shed some light to my problem here as well.

I got my 1998 SHO back from the tranny shop (after a $2100 rebuild!!!!!) and the moment I picked my car up from the shop, down the road to my house, the car started jerking, hesitating, and idling pretty rough. Exact same symptoms I had last time I had a coil go out.

Anyway, today, about 3 days after I picked up the car, the SES light came on. It is still doing the same thing it was doing when I picked it up from the tranny shop. I went and got the codes read and I got these two codes:

P1132 Manufacturer control. Fuel Error Metering.
P0172 System Too Rich, Bank 1.

So what could this be? Keep in mind, the whole exhaust was pulled out, the subframe, the engine was completely unbolted and on a lift, the wiring harness, etc. Since this was not going on when I dropped the car off, is the shop responsible? Did the shop forget to hook something back up, or do it improperly? And what exactly is wrong with my car? Anyone have any ideas? I have no codes for a bad coil or anything....the car has 150k+ plus miles, and it was pretty cool, too...the car was on the original tranny @ 150k miles. Pretty good for a SHO if you ask me.

Thanks

-Kyle

Well, you can always try and unhook the battery and see if the problem persists. Sometimes it pays to check the easy fixes first!

kinda sounds like an unhooked o2 sensor.

it wouldn't be the maf due to one bank being richer than the other. It sounds like one bank is getting drowned in fuel.

That sounds logical to me, particulary because they dropped the exhaust.

Are you getting a strong odor from the exhaust?

Someone over at TCCA suggested the same thing in your post

One code is the O2 before the cat is too lean the other is the same sensor is too rich. That is the one that is connected behind the alternator.

If the wire isn't placed correctly it may lie on the Y pipe.

Not to mention that if they weren't thinking ahead and put the exhaust back up before hooking all those connectors back up those three plugs in the rear are difficult at best and one is nearly impossible. Not going to be easy to see either.

We disconnected and reconnected bascially every hose and wire we could reach, including the O2 sensors, disconnected the battery, and then took it for a spin and bascially it seems like it is fixed. Also ran some fuel injector cleaner through...

The car still seems like it has a little stumble @ idle, but otherwise, the problem is fixed....I think...

I guess it must have had to do with something not being hooked up properly AFAIK, but, who knows.

Hopefully it doesn't come back. Thanks for everyones help!
