Ordered the rod bearing set on late late Thursday, he e-mailed me back an hour later confirming order, then at like 9 a.m. on friday morning to let me know it shipped. So he shipped it Friday morning, and i got it today on monday. Great communication, good price, fast shipping. Will do business with him again in the future :thumb:

Well, I guess RCM really is a great place to do business. I guess it was just bad luck that I ordered a used oil pump two months ago, sent two emails durng the first month that went unanswered, filed a dispute with PayPal that RCM did not answer, elevated to a claim that RCM did not answer, then PayPal automatically refunded my payment after 14 days went by without a response. Mark is just such a great guy and so loyal to the SHO community. He must have had a good reason not to answer any of PayPal or my inquiries.

Just keep doing business with him. Eventually you will know firsthand how I feel.

We are not saying that you don't have a right to complain. It is your right to expect professional treatment. I also understand that in most business conflicts there are two sides to each story.

All I can speak to is that I have been doing business with Mark for 2 years and he has handled all of my transactions with great professionalism. He will continue to earn my business until he proves me otherwise.

Honestly, I kind of doubt it. I've been buying from them for over three years now with no problems. If anything, communication etc. has only improved. Any business that is around long enough screws up and makes customers angry, and will inevitably make enemies and get some bad reviews. Take zipzoomfly.com for example (online electronics vendor). I have ordered a lot of computer parts from them over the years, and have never had a problem. I would say they are a pretty good company. My brother, on the other hand, placed an order with them and had a bad experience and will probably never order from them again. Its unfortunate, but it is a reality of the business world. True, some companies do take advantage of their customers and screw them over and run a sloppy/crooked business. This is why it is nice to have things like the Hall of Fame or Shame where we can post the results of our transactions and hopefully get the word out about good/bad businesses. As a result, the quality of a business in the eyes of a consumer can be based upon the ratio of good vs bad reviews. And, at least from what I personally have seen, the ratio for RCM is much closer to good than bad. I'm not saying RCM didn't screw you over and ignore you, based on what you have said, it sounds like they did. What I am saying is that your bad transaction and the two or three others I have heard about are not enough to indicate (at least for me) that RCM is a poor business or the type that will intentionally screw its customers over. You will probably not be the last person to have a bad transaction with them, but on the reviews and my own experience I doubt that the majority of RCM customers will ever experience such a situation.

Here is the issue. RCM is one person. That one person never contacted me after numerous emails, never responded to the dispute with PayPal, never responded to the claim with PayPal, let the claim go to its expiration date and then PayPal automatically refunded my money. Why did this one person never
1. Return any of my emails asking for status of my order
2. Not respond to the PayPal dispute
3. Not respond to the PayPal claim
4. Let it drag out to the inevitable conclusion of me getting my refund

Why doesn't one of you that has a good working relationship with RCM ask these questions and give me the answers. It has nothing to do with business. It has everything to do with common decency and respect. You take someone's money, you have an obligation. If you care so much about your business, why do you let a dispute and claim by PayPal go by without even responding to it?

Am I upset. Damn straight I am. My engine rebuild has been held up for over two months waiting for my RCM order to be resolved. I could have gone somewhere else but, once I went to RCM (based on Mark emailing me that he had oil pumps) I was committed. Unfortunately, RCM was not.

A bad business transaction can be resolved and relationships preserved. Not the same with bad business people.

John

I can understand a bad transaction in a company of many sales people. At least in those situations, you can try to resolve the problem with someone else.

John,

I apologize for the complete mishandling your most recent purchase.
I emailed last week to both of the addresses I have for you, included my cell number, and I'd like to make this right with you if I can. You've been fully refunded, but I'm aware that isn't enough.

As far as I can see, we've had 4-5 previous good transactions dating back years, and I'd like to continue.

John,

You asked for the supporters of RCM to reach out. One thing I have learned over 30years in the automotive business is that often problems are not because one party is right and one is wrong. They come about because one or both parties are more interested in proving themselves right, not in finding a solution. The truth is that when we reach out and listen to each other, we find that the path to a solution is not so far away.

Russ has now reached out to you. I hope you can find it in yourself to settle this.

I just got my first order, and it was priced way better than any chain store (even with shipping), I got it maybe a day or two later than they could have. Part of that may have been ordering over a weekend though.

1 good transaction down, hopefully more to come! :salute:Front 60k is coming up this summer.

As with any business, problems occur, and good business try and make good on those problems, just as Russ is doing.

Thanks!

I can't say I have always been thrilled with RCM either. Last year I placed a large order with Mark, probably $1000 or so. He was VERY helpful with my order. My questions were answered quickly and he had a customer for life. I emailed him soon after to order more parts and no response. I tried again and no response. I understand busy but I am not going to beg someone to take my money. I ended up going elsewhere for my parts. Two months ago I decided to give RCM a try and got my part quickly with no problems.

I have ordered my rod bearing kit and gaskets from RCM they shipped my stuff out promply. I haven't had any problem with them. I am still waiting on my catless Y pipe, but I guess that was partially my fault because I gave them the wrong shipping address on that, but he caught it and promply emailed me and said he got it straightened out. I'm still waiting on it but expect it to be here in a couple of days.

THANKS RCM!!!
