Getting ready to run the wire for my Valentine one, has anyone removed the panel on the side at the front window? looks like it has one small speaker there, I have to run the wire up to the top by the inside mirror. Thanks

Are you running it down low on the driver's side? It seems universally acceptedto tap into the dome lights, especially if you run the detector high-center...

Yes, driver side for the wire, I am mounting the V1 on the glass just to the left of the mirror. Was not sure about pullng the side panel off with the small stereo speaker in it.

That cover just pulls off. There is one metal clip at the top that can be hard. It may break. Mine did. I used silicone to put the two pieces of the chip back together. It worked fine. The speaker has a connector that can be unplugged once the cover is removed

Sorry guys, I know this may be a little late, but, no one was making any post that I felt I needed to reply to. Been off the grip for the past few weeks. Anyway, there is a company that makes pigtails for the V1, It plugs into the plug into the back of the mirror, if you have the autodim mirror. Try Safe-n-Sound1.com. Give about 6-8 inches of room to mount the V-1 on the glass. Up, out of the way, no cable to route......

I'd like to do this but can't find which leads to the mirror to use. I have the auto dim mirror in my 2010 SHO. What color wires do you tap the Safe-n-Sound cord into? Does it power up with accessories or only when engine is started?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Mount it to the left of the rear view mirror. Mine is in a perfect spot. If you put the visor down, the sensor still shows to the right of it so it still picks up rear signals. Tuck the wire in the headliner, down the a pillar, to the fuse box. Piece of cake.

Hi:

I used Blendmount's V1 mounting to the mirror and then ran their 3" power adaptor to the voltage point on the back of the mirror. The way I have it wired is that it's powered on in every state except when going in reverse to remove any distraction when viewing the reverse camera.

I mount my passport using a blendmount also. I ran the wire down the a pillar because I like using the remote mute button. I just pulled the a pillar cover out until the first click. I didn't see a need to totally remove the pillar cover.

I ran the cord for the passport, plus my scanguage, which is mounted above the mirror on a blendmount, under the headliner, then down the a pillar. There is a nice place with a lot of room behind the kick panel to stuff the extra cat 5 cable from the scanguage, along with the coupler.
