My local Speedway offers what i belive is 110 octane. Can you run 110 octane in the SHO or is it BAD? My friend put 110 ocatane in his Talon TSI turbo and it made a little difference.

It's not "bad" unless there is crap in it to screw up you emission system ( Lead and Boron come to mind but there are other things). Is it needed? Not unless you highly modify your engine. If you have high compression pistons, or you are blown, It is a complete waste and may loss performance if you run it.

any "improvement" is likely a placebo effect rather than reality.
The additives will increase deposits. Also, they additives are designed to slow burning, so they would likely hurt performance in a SHO engine.

It would help in the Talon because it's turbocharged. The computer could run more boost and spark advance before causing detonation. It would be a waste of money in a n/a SHO.

What if you ran high octane gas w/Nitrous? Just a question, don't think I've seen that discussed in my Nitrous searches...then again, I may have missed it.

high octane unleaded gas is good with nitrous, just make sure its the unleaded, for some reason tracks like to have the leaded race fuel, but theyll have a gas station or somethin nearby with the unleaded, but nitrous on turbo's, sc'd, or nitrous'd cars is good, if ya dont have that, it will run way too rich, and hurt performance

The point of running racing or higher octane gas is so you can run more compression (a higher compression ratio) or a faster advacnce curve and sometimes a greater total of advance.
If you are talking about running leaded racing gas it will have a detremental effect on the cats. It could ruin new cats with just one tank of leaded gas.
Sunoco does have unleaded racing gas here (NY) and I believe it is posted as 96 octane. I think that would be 103 on the old octane method.
Unleaded "higher octane" gas would be helpful with nitrous oxide or supercharging.
The higher the octane of the gas, the more pressure would be required to self ignite it (pre-ignition).
Because nitrous and supercharging are increasing cylinder chamber pressure, the higher octane gas would pre-ignite at a higher pressure and thus you could use more pressure in the supercharger or more nitrous or both before pre-ignition.
In my experience the effect of the unleaded 96 octane Sunoco racing gas was insignificant.
I never tried 110 octane in the SHO, but I think that's the purple leaded gas. It has quite a bit of lead to it.

I do know that when I put the purple racing gas in my Shelby the hot idle drops from about 850 down to 700rpm with just the racing gas in the tank. I always found that interesting. I don't know what that means but it is interesting to me.
