quick auto trans question

i am gonna change trans fluid and filter. and am gonna drop PAN only . can someone tell me how much fluid is needed to replace what comes out. i did it b4 but cant remember the amount. thanxs alot for any help !!! 94 sho auto

IDK how much fluid you will need BUT your not going to get all the fluid out. There is still usually 3-5 QTS in the converter. Just a little FYI

Far more than that. Dropping the pan only gets 3-4 qts.

It's really better to do a complete "pump 'n dump" which takes around 13-15 qts.

A dry system takes about 12 1/4 qts.

If you have your heart set on replacing the filter, do it after the first pump-out.

Procedure is in the factory service manual.
