quick amp question

I have a subwoofer with 175 watts RMS. I am in the process of selecting an amp for it and I have a quick question. Would it be better for me to purchase a 1 channel 150 watts max amp or a 2 channel 240 watts max amp? I would bridge the 2 channel amp.

Mono load amps are designed for subwoofers and are more efficent in that sense. You can use the 2-channel and that is what I use. You need to compare the max of the subwoofer to the max of the amp to see if it will blow it. Also are these at the same ohms as the sub? I would go with the 2 channel probably.
