Steering rack question

I am upgrading the subframe to a '96 on my '91.
Should I rebuild the OEM rack (third time, it is leaking again) or use the '96 rack (also leaking, needs a rebuild)?
Is th '96 rack that much better? Obviously, it has 1/3 the miles on it, but is the feel like the ZF rack in my C-Max (same as the Focus ST)?
From the sticky, it seems the lines are compatible, so no real issues swapping over.

After taking a closer look, the lines go in at different angles. Does anyone know which line from the pump to the rack I need? Or should I splice the two lines together.
