Hi guys! My 2018 SHO w/72000 on the odometer has an issue when I start the car after its warmed up, the acceleration kinda pulses or starts bucking, literally 750 - 1200 rpm, at real slow speed. It will kinda flutter I guess for lack of better description. Little more gas, it's ok. Only warm if I start it every 10 or 15 min, not really when cold either. I know it had been discussed before, but every situation sounds different! I have a 2016 taurus se, excellent car! But this engine is similar, but very different too! It's stock, I cleaned the map sensors already

What I meant to say is on the ecoboost, I changed the oil recently, I took out 5 q of Trans fluid and filled it back with motorcraft lv, changed the air filter, and cleaned the map sensors. Similar engine to the duratec, just different and beastly looking

Man that's a very hard question. No forescan. No lights, runs perfect otherwise, I picked it up with a pretty bad exhaust, i cut it out, and I bolted on a ford performance exhaust. Looks and sounds great! That was the most i did to it, so it's not quite stock. I would like to scan the car, but I don't have a scanner

Windows laptop and OBDLink EX USB cable and Forscan $12@year.

Worth having. I will yield to others to weigh in.

Agreed but I believe this is better cable.

Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB Adapter for for-Scan HS/MS-CAN Auto Switch https://a.co/d/81r8oYb

Beware of cheap elm327 cables. These two are recommended by FORScan.

Either will work, and Texas choice is definately cheaper - so the entry price for most people under $50 for a cable and a 1 year license of Forscan. More than likely u have a windows laptop. If not many retailers have some for a few bills. Or grab one off ebay used 3 year old laptop could be a couple hundred.

The functionality of Forscan is priceless, even if u use it to read just errors, or DTC - diagnostic trouble codes.

I'm looking at an " OBD MX+ Bluetooth scanner" for the phone
That is one of the top models for bluetooth phone connected devices. That will allow you to use ForScan Lite. If you plan to do any type of programming, you will need to use ForScan which is a Windows program.

That is why I own both MX and EX. Programing needs a reliable connection. Start with whichever you like. Bluetooth can be difficult for some folks. So I always say cable.

Alright, I'll go with a corded one, and I'll use my laptop. Hopefully I'll get it soon and I can get to the bottom of it. You guys are great! I'm glad I can have resources and hopefully be resourceful as well! I don't want to pay those mechanic prices!

Well here we are a few weeks later, I never bought a scan tool. Shame on me, I'm just super busy! BUT, autozone scanned it, no codes came up, a dealership wanted to charge me 175$ to diagnose, which is why I went to autozone. No codes, nothing stored. I bought a bottle of seafoam motor treatment against my better judgement, I put it all in the gas tank with a quarter tank left, hesitation is gone! The car runs like brand new! So I guess I'm kinda wondering what's in the seafoam that did it? Maybe I had a dirty injector? The car runs great! I did just order 2 jugs of yellow coolant and some vc-1 coolant system flush which I will do as soon as I get it, and I'm going to do the trans fluid again for a third time within a month. Maybe 1 or 2 more times, the fluid will be completely changed.
