So Ive got an emission test tomorrow and you know what Id like to do, pull that damn SPOUT...anyways, I took a look behing the engine, infront of the firewall, on the passengers side...Saw one rectangular connector, it seems very hard to get to, Even if I could pull it off, I dont think Id be able to get it back connected again...I havent seen a good picture of what it actually looks like, If somebody could provide one, Id really appreciate it, but any help would be appreciated...

Like I said in the title, I know there are tons of threads regarding the spout connector but Id feel better starting my own thread...

Is it always hard to get to? If the one Im thinking of is actually the right one, there are several wiring harnesses in the way of getting to the actual connector...

Then there is another thing that it could be, I see a yellow wire and I remember reading something about the spout having a yellow wire...I have attached a picture of the second possibility...

Picture

Thanks everybody...

I can't really make anything out in the picture but IIRC (it's been a while) the SPOUT connector in the rear on my '90 had a gray plug in the connector (which was black). At any rate it has a raised tab in the middle so you can get a good hold on it to pull it out. It plugs back in very easily. The connector stays put, only the middle plug comes out.

Hm, interesting...Where was the plug? Was it underneath all the cables that I pictured or was it somewhere else?...I only wish there was a clear picture of it somewhere...

Thanks...

I can't pick up much from your photo, so I tried to snap a couple for you this morning. They aren't very good, but you should get the idea (zooming in to try and give you a good idea of location):

There should be one that looks just like it in the wide open space under your coil pack (only has red wires leading to it, IIRC). I only mention this in case you want a first hand check of what it looks like.

The SPOUT connector is the gray plug located on the CID sensor harness within a few inches of the CID sensor. The plug by the coil pack is not the SPOUT connector.

Alright - sorry for the confusion - all I was trying to imply was there is another plug that LOOKS like it right under the coil pack in case he needed a reference. I only suggested this since I can't seem to get the macro to work well on my camera and the pictures are blurry. Anyway, I know this has been argued in the past, and I'm sorry for any confusion. :thumb:

Ok, This is rediculous...I dont see the plug that pictured, Its so tight back there, and there are several wiring harnesses in the way that make it even harder....Its insane...

Alright - Try this....
1.) Locate the Cam Sensor (CID) above the power steering pump. It looks like this (Stolen from Saleen SHO - if this is a problem, let me know and I will take it down ASAP)
CID

2.) Trace the harnass for this plug (CID) back a couple of inches and you should feel/see two short wires comming out of the loom with the SPOUT attached to it. It will look like above picture I posted (only not be blurry).
