Pulling the engine?

I am thinking about pulling the engine out to do some work on it and the transmission, I was wondering how difficult it is to pull, and what all is involved. Also, could someone post a picture of the engine support that hold the engine up while the clutch is being replaced (big "L"-Shaped device). Thanks!

You will need a cherry picker and an engine stand at the very least, besides general tools...also if you pull the engine, change ALL the hoses before you put it back in...

I pulled my motor out the top last summer. Wasn't too hard, I used a cherry picker also. Basicaly, take every thing off the motor. Then pull it out the top. I took off the intake and exhaust manifolds, and pulled it by the exhaust studs. I left the power steering pump on it. Also you have to take off the hood, not a problem, just mark where it was so you can line it up again.

It not that hard had to replace mine two weeks ago from spun rod bearing. No need to take off hood just disconnected hood struts and then used a long piece of wood to hold it up.

I am in the process of doing this right now due to a spun bearing. i guess that I am not the only one that is having this problem. However I am putting in a 3.2L. I will keep you posted.
BTW SLOSHO89, what did you use to color your engine? Is it painted or powdercoated? I would like to do the same type of thing w/ mine except green and polished.

My intake is painted. I used touch-up paint made by dupli-color. The red was "cherry red" and the gold was "Lt. Champane". It has held on well so far. I did a little write up on it for my web page. Just click on the picture of the intake on my web page.
