ok, i've never done this before... so bear with me. (thank you eric for the info)

the codes apear to read as follows:

KOEO test:
157-MAF circuit below min. voltage
542-fuel pump secondary circuit failure

KOER test:
pulsed three times, i'm left to assume this is a 111-system pass

dynamic response test (DRT): (here we go...)
116?
136-HEGO sensor indicates system lean (lh)
129-insufficient MAF change during DRT
167-insufficient throttle position change during DRT (is that me screwing it up?)
225-knock sensor not sensed during DRT (not surprised)

so if anyone knows anything about all this crap, please help me out.

much appreciated, myke.

157-you may need to clean the MAF filiments with TB cleaner or replace the MAF.

542-a common code, did the car stall during the test? Nothing to worry about if the fuel pump works fine.

116-Engine Coolant (ECT) sensor out of range. Either you need a new ECT or the engine wasn't warmed up properly for the test.

136-could be related to the 116 code(engine not warmed up) or you need new oxygen sensors.

129,167-did you do the goose test properly? ie-quickly press the accelerator half way down and release when prompted by the CE light?

225-another code that you usually don't have to worry about.

Clean the MAF and pull the codes again(engine warm), remember the goose test, and see what happens.

FWIW, the 542 code has to do with the power supplied to the pump by the relay in the CCRM. The only way it could be caused by the fuel pump itself would be if there was an excessive current draw by the pump.

As said, don't worry about it as it is usually the result of a stall.

ok, i didn't stall at all during the tests... however, i didn't know i was supposed to hold down the accel until the light flashed. i will try that after i go for a ride.

be right back....

so i reset the memory by pulling out the wires during code and went for a ride... good and warm. what does a 1-9-9 mean on the cylinder balance test? also, on the dynamic response test... am i supposed to rev the **** out of it? i took it to 6k and eased of because i didn't see any light and i got alittle nervous. it held 3k but gave the OE code... partly because i had the heat on. i'm done for tonight, my neighbors are ****** enough for one day.

When you start the KOER test, the engine ID will be output and then a while later you will get the single pulse for the "goose-test". That is your cue to move the accelerator atleast half way down and release. You don't have to achieve any certain RPM's. So a quick stab of the accelerator will do.

Check out http://www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html It gives you step by step instructions for the test. Print it out and take it with you.

9-9 means "all clear"(I think) The "1" is probably a seperator pulse.

i tried it like that but it didn't take... is the engine id a fast code or a normal code?
