How much would a new power steering pump cost me? Mine I think is leaking on the ground. The fluid is a red-brown color without much of a smell. This is PS fluid right?

Anyways, if it is, how much would a new or remanufactured one run me?

The power steering pump rarely leaks. You may want to wrap the high pressure hose in paper towels, run the engine for a few seconds and see where the leak might be originating. I'll bet you find the hose or fitting to be leaking rather than the pump. The hose can be bought at local auto supplies.

There is also a possibility that what you are seeing is leaking from the transmission, since tranny fluid is very similiar to power steering fluid. Make sure you investigate it as a possible source of the leak, especially the tranny pan area.
