Once we got everything torn apart, getting the old water pump out wasnt terrible but it was indeed leaking. So we got that out of the way. Next is we're in the process of getting the new timing chain set installed. We'll get the timing set at the correct spots for the cam shafts. Re install everything, get fresh coolant, and oil in and bolt the timing cover back on and all the rest of it. Hoping by later today i can get it started up. Ill try to keep everyone posted. Photos may show up backwards but you get the idea.

Looks good. This is (was) the time to inspect and clean the back of the valves.

Surprisingly they weren't bad and didn't have a shit ton of carbon buildup. The previous owner took great care of it. I continued that and i use only full synthetic mobile 1. Change it every 3k.

It's a time consuming job at home, but not horrible. I couldn't get a good read on your pictures, but the internal aluminum parts seemed to still look like clean aluminum with Mobil 1. I use Royal Purple exclusively for the life of mine and when I did the water pump, the parts had a slight yellow, almost varnish looking appearance even with 5k mile change intervals. Another Mobil 1 user also seemed to have a clean aluminum appearance. I'm not sure if that's an indication of Mobil 1 superiority, just an observation.
