P0123 Throttle/Petal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit High Input.

So the computer thinks the TPS is shorted or at WOT correct ? I checked the TPS position w/ the scan tool & it says 99% throttle.

Well I checked it today & it reads from 700 Ohms to 3500 Ohms. It increases smoothly w/ the throttle, plug is getting 5V. So is the range for the TPS off ? or am I missing something simple?

What's the voltage coming out? Should be ~.94-.99 with the key on and throttle closed. And ~4.0-4.5V at WOT engine off key on.

I dunno, I didn't want to pierce the wire so I didn't check. I did notice that 2 of the pins on the TPS had the same resistance at every throttle position. Being that it's just a fancy *** one should be max resistance, and the other current resistance. So I got a new one, cleared the code, now I get 16 - 94 :woohoo: for a working TPS.

Back probe it with some single strand 20ga wire or a paper clip.
