I ordered a Pro M 75MM MAF from Pro M direct as the usual suspecting SHO vendors were out of them

I called on a tuesday And ordered it they said i wouldn't see it until the next monday.

They called me wednesday morning to let me know that it was getting ready to be shipped and then called again wednesday afternoon to tell be it was shipped out at noon time. I payed for UPS ground. They overnighted it and i recieved it thursday. It so much easier to deal with a larger company that cares about there customers

Unlike some other vendors we know

Thumbs up from me too! I had mine in under 2 weeks and most of that time was spent in shipping. It had to travel direct from Pro-M to a retailer in Calgary, 600 miles west of me and then from there to me. My butt dyno isn't very accurate so I'll have to wait for a real dyno session to comment on the performance. But the car feels very strong in the upper RPM range.

Pro-M is actually expanding their business and it is growing every day. I went down there not too long ago and it is quite the setup, expanded into 2 huge buildings now. I was quite impressed with the tour I received from the owners of the business. We will be having a dyno day there one day soon. Good to hear you got good service from them, I hope they continue to be a customer oriented place. thumb

mels had some runs on the dyno with the 75mm and without. I don't remember his overall numbers but from 1st run with the 75mm to without, I believe he gained 3hp and 4lb with the ProM??

Give him a holler and ask. But I had mine for over 8 years and got great service the time it failed on me and has worked great since. No charge on the fix, too. :)

don't forget abou the 80mm pro-m.

everyone says what's the point in spending twice as much money for 5mm more?

well, from my understanding, it's because the two have NOTHING to do with eachother.

the bullet is a straight forward maf, where as the 80mm actually flares out to 110 mm (or something thereabouts) like a funnel. i believe it's to create a "venturi effect." which apparently works as the 80mm does seem to create nearly twice as much HP.

see ya,
Robby

Yup, we saw approx 4hp increase with the 75mm unit over the stock 55, but as I'm still encumbered with the stock Y-pipe :( I'd find it impossible to believe that the PRO-M was giving us anywhere near it's potential.

I plan on doing the same run sequence again at the same dyno on as close to the same climate conditions as soon as I'm able to upgrade to the PP Y-pipe.

I do have my Dyno sheet scanned onto my computer, how would I post it for you folks to review for comparison?

I just want to say that the PRO M 80MAF is the single best performance mod I've done to my car. And I have a lot done. If I could do it over again, it would have been the FIRST thing I bought.

Mels Dyno Run:
http://64.21.39.232/hosting/autobahnsho1130/DYNOrun.bmp

Run#1: 55mm MAF 4th gear
Run#2: 75mm MAF 3rd gear
Run#3: 75mm MAF 4th gear
Run#4: 55mm MAF 3rd gear
Run#5: 75mm MAF 4th gear
Run#6: 75mm MAF 3rd gear

75mm MAF is the PRO-M Chrome bullet model, programmed for a stock engine
55mm MAF is the stock Ford unit as programmed at the factory

All runs were ran at WOT until the rev limiter took over (approx. 7400rpm as
indicated by Dyno)

Runs 5 & 6 were after having cleaned the MAF sensor with brakeclean spray

Computer was unplugged for reset in between each MAF change

Car has stock exhaust, incl Y-pipe

Ambient temp approx 73F, RH approx 80%

Well that looks good for a Gen1 thumb

Thanks for putting that up for me Chris thumb

I really need to clarify that the sequence of runs is kinda jumbled. On the Dyno sheet graph "key", you'll see that the runs count down from 3,2 and 1, then up through 4,5 and 6. Chris has tried to reduce confusion by listing the runs below the graph in the order that they appear on the graph "key" reading from top to bottom.

Essentially I ran the first two runs with the 75mm in 4th and 3rd gears respectively. Then two with the 55mm and back to the 75mm for the final two runs.

Any questions call me at 203-796-3512 (0700-1700 EST) M-F

When were your oxygen sensors last replaced? You're running pretty lean through the whole range, I suspect that they are not telling the computer the whole story. I would definately look into replacing them if they havent been recently.

The O2 sensors are original, with 71,000 on them. I haven't seen any CEL's, should I be concerned? I'm completely ignorant to what this stock engines' A/F ratio should be.
