I got my wiring all back together in my car and when I tried to roll up the windows they work for like 5 seconds then they just stop. Almost like there is a short or something. I could turn the car off let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes and then turn it on and they would work again for another 5 seconds and now they don't work at all period. I have no idea what is up. Any suggestions???

Can you be more specfic on the "wiring back together part"... Depending on what you were 'wiring' back together, it's possible something touched, and blew a fuse.

Edit: Also the window switches fail quite often, for no apparent reason, other than just being old. Easy fix if this is the case. ($5-10 from the J.Y.)

When I first got this car the guy I bought it from was convinced that the reason the battery was dying all the time was because of the wiring. So he unplugged everything and was two bolts away from having the whole dash out. So I just plugged everything back in and put the dash back together and the car runs great the battery hasn't died on me once. The only problem I am having is that once I plugged everything back in and checked all the fuses in the car and under the hood the windows still only work for a sec then there is a strange clicking and the lights flicker and thats it the windows quit working till I turn off the car and let it sit. My sun roof is stuck open because of this problem it won't move at all even if I let the car sit all night then try it. I'm stumped.

I would try a used window switch from a junkyard. I think that'd do the trick for you. I would definatly do that before tearing into the dash! If that dosn't work though, then, yeah, you'll be heading back into the dash to see if there are any wires rubbing/ something loosely pluged in etc....

I know when i replaced my sunroof button/plastic cover, there were 2 wires that were rubbing, causing my radio to die out within 10secs of me turning the car on. I must have taken that stupid thing off 5 or 6 times, and went through that many fuses before i found the problem!

Ok so I pulled off all the door panels to the car to check the wiring. There were two white/purple wires that we cut on both driver and passenger door I connected those back together and still same problem. But I can hear the short through the passenger door speaker now... And my sun roof won't move at all now. I took the cover off and everything looks good. Does it have its own fuse? If so where is it?
