3 of my 4 power windows work, but the back passenger one on the drivers side wont go down, when I push the button for it to go down, it does nothing, and their isnt any sound of something struggling to do its job, what should I check, and how do i fix it?

unlocked? like the child safety lock or the thing up front the driver has? The switch in the drivers spot doesnt move it, and the one at the window doesnt move it.

Try taking the door panel off and taping the motor inside the door with a hammer. Sometimes freak things like this make it work. see if your getting power to the switch? im not sure what else to tell ya...

I guess first off and check to see if there is power at all going to the switch. If there is hold the switch in one direction and see if power is going to the motor.

window

check my thread in the body forum. I am having the same problem with my 90.
The pass. window goes down and not up.
I have checked or replaced switches but same problem.
I am hoping someone will post an answer to my thread.
Anyway, I think the wiring is the problem.

In my past revelations...when a window stops working (up and down) and neither the drivers spot or that particular spot moves the window, it ends up being the motor.

Before the motor goes, usually the window will go up and down really slow. You can get one fairly cheap at a junk yard. Just make sure the one you get is not rusted around the gear. If there is rust, it will probably not work, or not for long. There should be some grease/lubricant around the gear. You will see if you take the motor out.

To remove motor. First unscrew plastic cap on door locking mechanism. Remove screw behind door handle. Then pull on interior piece of door and there are about 15 plastic push things holding it on. Start in a corner and work your way around. Be careful not to crack/break anything. Pull back (usually blue) insulator. You should see the motor, there are 3 screws holding it in, and a 2 wire connector. Take those out, wiggle the motor a bit, and it should drop out.

Reverse to put back together. (except use new motor) :thumb:
