I've been getting a noise when having the window descend for a few weeks. It would make a thunk sound when it first began to descend. Today, at least the leading edge of the window detached from the regulator and it was a struggle to get it closed.

I'm going to open the door up tomorrow to take a look, but had anyone else experienced this issue? I'm not sure if the door or the regulator is to blame for the noise and the subsequent detaching.

I've had lots of problems with this, especially with the LF window. It's more usual for there to be a problem with a channel rather than separation from the regulator. The window can pop out of a channel without getting separated from the regulator.

It's definitely off. Rivet sheared. I can get the replacements on Rock Auto but not sure how to get the tool in there to get the rivet installed.

This happened on my current job. You have two choices. Replace the rivets:
What is much stronger, as recommended in the '94 shop manual:
1/4"-20 x 1" bolts, nuts, lock washers, steel washers (2) $12 Home Depot
Yes, 1/4" x 1". 1/4" x 3/4" may work, I can never remember til I'm in that situation.

Rivets are used during factory assembly because it's faster and simpler than bolting.

So far so good. Wish the Gen 1 had such a clear access to that.

Was a little concerned with how hard to torque it. Got it tight and will just check it later

Is there a trick to where in the run the bolt should be tightened? I've been running into some alignment issues.
