I recently installed a Sony Car stereo and other stuff into my SHO. It does has the JBL system, and I uninstalled the factory amp, sub amp and subwoofer. I reinstalled a Sony MD player, CD changer, 5 channel Alphasonic amp and 10" Bazooka sub for now (plan on enlarging the opening on the factory sub and installing a 10" sub in it).

I followed the instructions on the threads here but for some reason my power antenna wont raise... Yes, I installed the power antenna lead on the stereo to the wire harness... Something I am missing? Is there another wire that needed to be attached?

When I uninstalled the factory stereo I found the hidden plug behind the dash, and ran power for the front/rear speakers from my amp back up to the front in twisted sheilded wires...everything works perfect except I cant get the power antenna to work.... It worked with the factory stereo, and now doesnt with the after market stereo...PLEASE HELP!!!

did you wire it into the correct connector/wire. i believe it should be the same wire that is the sub amp turn on, also know as the remote. Mine was a blue wire with a dark blue stripe (i think).
As far i know their isnt a hidden or special extra wire that is part of this.

duh....

Got it fixed...helps when you connect the correct wire from the head unit...somehow I connected the wrong one, I had the ATT lead connected, and when you opened the dorr or something the radio muted. So, I pulled the dash apart, and there it was....DUH!!!

Good to hear you got it figured out. I've always personally hated power antennas on any vehicle. It's funny, one of the first things I ever did to my sho was unhook the power antenna. Turn the key on, powered up the radio and once the antenna was up, unhook the wires. I'm much happier now lol.

Not much worth listening to on the radio down here, so in effect I just have a chrome wart on my passenger's fender. I haven't raised the antenna in about five years, and then it was just to make sure the motor still worked.

How do you get to the wires to unplug them as I want to either do that or just replace it with a shorter non powered antenna?

Jack car up.
Take off passenger side front wheel.
Take out wheel well. There are a few screws holding it to the edge of the fender, as well as a couple of pins holding the inner portion.
Everything will be on your left and is pretty self explanatory at this point. I'd suggest a flexible screwdriver extension to take the power-antenna assembly out, but it's completely optional if you can finagle something with your regular one.

Pro-tip: If your wheel well has never come out, don't get underneath it while getting it out. Chances are, it's picked up quite a bit of dust and sand along the way.
Pro-tip 2: The wheel well sucks to put back in, and it never gets any easier.
