Ok, here's the story:
Driving down the road, getting on the gas a little, and all of a sudden the car starts misfiring badly; backfires, no power, barely running. Limped up the road to a parking lot, shut engine down. Try to restart, SHO no go - misfiring, backfiring, no start. Towed to shop, pull codes, get a 211. Checked timing belt, cam pulley marks aligned ok. Checked spark module, ok. Checked cam sensor, ok. Visual inspection of crank sensor + gap, ok. Still no start. Button it all back up, turn the key for #$^ts and grins, starts immediately. Oddly, ever since the 3.2 conversion, I had a little problem with slightly-longer-than-should-be crank times, but Fred attributed that to probable check valve issue in fuel pump, and that made sense. I had planned on replacing the pump this spring anyway. At any rate, subsequent restarts have now been crisp and instant. Could this have just been as simple as a failing/shorted/bad connection in the CPS wiring? Or is it a sign of a failing/intermittent CPS itself? Sensor was replaced during build-up, BTW. Any and all help appreciated.
