Hey guys, The sale on my SHO never went through and I have decided to keep it. Im trying to put together a Game-Plan with the car when I have a month to play with it In april when I go to visit the states.

Anyways, When I put on a Used SS Equal Length Y-Pipe back in july It worked great...For 15 minutes. I was test driving it after the initial install, Ran it through the gears a few times, And on one of the runs Banged it in to second at about 7300 RPM's and let off after that. At the next light the car sounded really weird, and was significantly down on power. It ran smooth, But just down on power.

The car sounds like One side of the Y-Pipe is free flowing and the otherside is plugged up. Could this be a blown cat? I dont see how it can be anything else but just want some opinions. Also, If this is the case what are High Flow Cats going for these days? Are they worth it?

Thank you In Advance.

I don't know if thats a blown cat, they don't usually "blow out" they slowly crumble and break apart when going bad. Im not sure what that could be, but a new y pipe with high flows is under 300 bucks and worth it if you think your cats might be going. If your cats crumble and you downshift your going to suck all that shit into your engine and thats noottt good. Its a good way to **** a sho engine.:thumb:

If you have an infared temp gun, you can look at the temps of both cats. The clogged cat will have a much higher temp.

I have read on this forum several times about the SS catted pipe needing new cats. You aren't the first.

Excellent, I'm hoping thats the culprit then, As the Pipe was Used and the car ran perfect before the I Changed out the exhaust. Cant wait tell April

**Edit** Looking at the prices of Cats Im thinking getting a new Y-Pipe would be the better option...Oiye.
