I'm accumulating parts to do a tune up to my car and have done some searches on the shoforum but haven't been able to figure out why the atx plug wires are more expensive than the mtx. Can anyone tell me the difference between the (WR-4033) mtx and atx and the (WRE-4081) atx only wire set's? On the Shonut site they state that the 4033's can be used on either vehichle but I'm interested in just exactly what are the differences if anything. thanks

The difference is, a couple of the ATX wires are slightly longer. Some people have managed to put MTX wires on an ATX, you just have to route them carefully.

The difference is a bit of extra length (less than an inch) on the rear bank wires and the fact that they don't have the cylinder numbers on the wires like the MTX wires. The Motorcraft WR-4033 will fit the 3.2L without any unusual installation efforts. Just make sure they take the straightest path under the throttle body from the rear bank. The lowest price source I know of for the WR-4033 wire set is FordPartsNetwork.com for $83.99.
