You are just doing the front of the engine? not the valves? Do you have intake gaskets or valve cover sets? what about shims. ATX filter and fluid, PS teering fluid, some coolant, no cam sensor.

The parts you have are correct but you may have left soke stuff out especially the CamPS.

Sdpatt is doing the whole thing & the shims he has. Intake gaskets are being replaced by Mike D. because he's powdercoating the intake & valve covers. The tranny was just replaced & the coolant is being flushed too I believe. That leaves only the cam ps & ps fluid. How big of thing are they & it's probably too late anyways for the Cam ps. Thanks anyways guys for the help & my mistake on the plugs it was just a typo

ohio is for hustlers
If you are driving that far, and you haven't changed your oil recentlym pick up a Mobil 1 M1-301 filter and some oil. Make sure either you or Scott has some black hi-temp RTV to use on re-installation of your gaskets, and bring PLENTY of Berrymans carb cleaner (like 5-7 bottles of it). I'm sure Scott will have stuff lying around his garage/house you can use, but consider a brush to use when you clean off your valve covers, make sure you have some Simple Green to clean everything with, and some shop towels ($3.99 for a pack of 12 at any auto store). Have Scott order you a CID (Cylinder ID aka Cam position sensor) and just repay him when you arrive. Make sure you are involved in the 60k as much as he will let you. You will be shocked at how incredibly SIMPLE the valve adjustment is, it is just very tedious. Best of luck and enjoy the trip.

Adam,

I have plenty of intake cleaner and old toothbrushes for the intake and timing belt area cleaning. I don't consider the power steering fluid change or flush part of my 60/100K service. The CID sensor is not a high failure rate component and I don't consider it a mandatory preventative replacement part. I am still on my original CID sensor at 253K+ miles.

Here is the list of items that I will be addressing.

Top end work:
1. Spark plug replacement
2. Spark plug wire replacement
3. Valve cover and plug well seal replacement
4. Thermostat replacement
5. Valve gap adjustment including shims
6. Clean idle air bypass (IAB) valve
7. Clean intake and valve covers
8. Coolant drain and fill with long life coolant

Front end work:
1. Timing belt
2. Accessory Belt
3. Water pump
4. Crankshaft position sensor
5. Crankshaft oil seal

It sounds like you have the necessary parts for the service. If you haven't already taken care of it, I can change your oil with Castrol GTX and a Motorcraft FL-400S filter. I have a 10W-30 but what weight of oil do you use in the great white north?

You mention a 10 to 11 hour trip. It is 800 miles from Waterloo to Dallas. You guys must really cruise (read: haul booty) on the highway. Have you made those hotel reservations? Please drive carefully.

Scott

At 130K miles, your SHO may also need the belt tensioner/idler.
Hope everything goes well. Have asafe trip and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
