Maybe I got a cobra SHO cause it hisses like a snake & is annoying as ****. I never really noticed it but everytime someone rides in my car they ask me what that noise is. It seems to be more when I have the heat on but I'm not leaking any fluids & the noise remains even after the ECC is turned off. Any general ideas??? I am not too concerned since nothing adverse is happening but it still is moderately obnoxious. Oh & it seems to originate towards the center of the dash or maybe under the hood. Thanks for any info.

Is it coming from in the dash or under the hood or perhaps under your car? If it's under the car I'd say you have a cat leak. That makes a very irritating hissing noise.

Go to the driver's side rear wheel and listen. If there is a hissing there then I would say your due for a fuel pump. If not then I am not sure although may K&N panel filter makes an awfully loud sucking sound even at idle. I'm not sure if that is right or maybe I have a vacuum hose leaking.

Ok investigated this & it is coming from right underneath the center console by the shifter & cup holder. It would make sense because I had that out while installing my amp controls however I have no idea what is causing the noise. Are there vaccum hoses under there?? Please help it's driving me nuts now. Thanks.

If you have an auto, the vacuum lines connect to the front of the shifter, their purpose is to release the parking brake when you put the car in "drive".
