Need to retest my crank position sensor (PIP) but can't find any specs. My last test was just voltage for the signal, but I stumbled across the following for the regular Taurus & wondering if it applies to the SHO:

Possibly this is a faulty crank position sensor Check the Vehicle Reference Voltage on the scan tool or at the Brown/White wire of the Throttle Position sensor for 5.0 volts. If the Vehicle Reference Voltage signal appears to be ok, inspect the Crankshaft Position sensor connector and check the resistance of the sensor.
The Crankshaft Position sensor resistance should indicate a reading of about 300-650 ohms. If the Crankshaft Position sensor resistance appears to be ok, check the alternating current output voltage of the sensor when cranking. It should produce at least 0.5 volts measuring between the two wires of the sensor. Check the Crankshaft Position sensor circuits running between the sensor and Powertrain Control Module connection for a possible open or short to ground before condemning the Powertrain Control Module.
