Finally got around to ordering & installing a phone holder & bracket. Sure beats setting it in the cup holder to rattle around Ph holder 1 Ph holder 2 & risk spilling something on your phone.
The mount is a Panavise 75107-510 specific to our cars. The holder is an Akron Mega Grip w/ AMPS adapter plate. The sides of the holder pinch together to hold your phone. Easy to release push button is visible on the left side. I tweaked the piece of the bracket (it's 2 pieces that are held together w/ 2 nuts/studs) that mounts to the car because I wanted it to tilt slightly more toward the driver's position. Easy to install & works well.

This is about the best mod you can do for the cost. There’s no good place to put a phone in the Taurus without it rattling around. You can run the cable under the trim piece that goes from the console storage compartment to the trunk button too. I used the same mount with a cheap magnetic phone holder off amazon. Works great.

This little magnetic dot does a great job! Two for $7.99 from Maxboost on Amazon. Use them in all my cars. Most convenient hold I’ve ever used.

Sorry..image file too large to upload.

Looks like a great idea. When my phone isn't on a belt clip (I'm old lol), it is frustrating. My OCD requires the console doors to be closed.

When the Panavise bracket installed, does it open the "gap" between the console and the soft trim piece? I have seen brackets like these in other cars where it does open the gap between who items due tot he width of the bracket.

No. It doesn’t open it at all. It just fits in the factory gap. I posted a pretty high res picture a couple posts back. You can zoom in and see there’s no excessive gap.
