Updated to remove sold items.

Hey, guys, I used to be active on here under the name "Tauruspimpin" and on TCCA as "Mr. Pants", many years ago. Times do change, and I no longer have the e-mail those accounts were registered with so I made a new one. If anyone remembers, I had the red third gen Taurus with the Vulcan engine that I swapped over to use an MTX IV out of first/second gen SHO. I used to autocross it and had a Wavetrac, Koni's, and all the good stuff that would fit a gen 3 :).

Unfortunately, in January, I got into a wreck with the car. It was a pretty good hit on the front left corner, and even though I fixed everything cosmetically, I cannot get the front left alignment right; even moving the subframe and strut mount around, I always wind up with 3-4 degrees of negative camber. I am so attached to the car, since I've had it since I was seventeen, that I just do not have the heart to buy another Taurus and start over, so I am parting it out.

I have prices listed for some things below, but feel free to make an offer if you think I am asking too much; the worst I will say is "no". For anything not listed, just ask or make an offer. I am in Western North Carolina, so if you're between Charlotte in Knoxville, I'd be happy to meet up to get parts to you and reminisce. Otherwise, assume that buyer pays shipping. I have put a couple of pictures in here, but they are old, so if you interested in a body panel, let me know, and I will take some detailed pictures of its defects so you can decide.

For payment, I prefer cash where possible, but can do PayPal. I will send the PayPal address in a PM as needed.

Updated to reflect what has sold. All I have left is two MTX IV transaxles, sway bars, springs, and subframe bushings. More information is below. Everything else has either been sold or scrapped. Prices are reduced; someone make me an offer and get this stuff out of my garage!

Transmission - Tranmission is an MTX-IV from a 1990 Taurus SHO. Installed an Autotec Wavetrac torque biasing differential in 2009, about 50k miles ago and replaced all bearings and shims at that time. I also have a spare transmission from a 1995 Taurus SHO that is unmodified. The shifter/linkage is a rod style from a 1995 Taurus SHO has been modified to have a shorter throw and accept Mustang shift handles. The cable is custom made due to body differences between the older SHO's and '96+ Tauruses.

Transmission with Wavetrac - $750
Spare - $250

Suspension - Shocks are Koni Yellows from SHO Source. Springs are Eibach progressive rate. Sway bars are 24 mm front and 26 mm rear from a 1993 Taurus SHO.

Springs alone - $100
Sway bars - $100
Aluminum subframe bushings - $75

I am just outside of Asheville on the west side. I have a truck and a station wagon, so if you are close I don't mind meeting somewhere.

I'm in Asheville on the north side. If you can deliver it that would be great.

Do you have the spindles to go with it?

Sure. I can leave the control arms and spindles attached. Also have the SHO Source aluminum bushings if you want them; I'd take $50 for them. The SF is still on the car, so I need a few days to get it off.

Don't care for the bushings.

Take your time. Won't have the funds available for a week or so.

Sounds good; I will PM when I have it out to make arrangements.

To update, I also have the SHO Source rear 11.6" brake upgrade kit with good Hawk HPS pads. The rotors will need to be turned or replaced, since I left them sitting for a while with the parking brake on. I also have an extra set of HPS pads for this setup.

Rear brake setup with used pads and rotors - $200
New HPS pads for vented rear brakes - $75

Condition

How's the condition of the trans? Are the shifts smooth and without any notchyness? Is it hard to engage in any gear...Grinding? ..... .Any leaks....
Thanks .... Terry

The transmission is in pretty good shape. It shifts fine, and I never powershifted or did anything silly like that. No grinding, and there is a very slight leak around the NPT drain plug that I installed. This only started after the last time I changed the ATF out, so I suspect that the threads need some cleaning or it just needs to be tightened a little more. Since I used a stainless plug in the aluminum housing, I was always gently to make sure I didn't strip it out. The seals were replaced when I installed the Wavetrac, and are in good shape. The only unknown is the ultimate mileage; I do not remember what it had on it when I got it. I believe that it came out of a '95, however. If you're anywhere close to Asheville, NC, we can make arrangements to meet and you can check it out.

I'd really love the front Konis that is if they're the ones that fit a gen 2. I didn't know they made them for Gen 3?
