I recently purchased the glow gauges off ebay (the $39 ones) and got them installed. I hooked them to my fog light switch so they would go on and off with the auto headlights. I noticed that people have been talking about trying to take off their needles and paint them. I just bought a $.99 permenant red marker at wallmart and went over the top of them while they were still in the car. (I put a piece of paper behind them as not to mark up the gauges when i did it) it took me less then 5 minutes, they look great and they still light up at night.
I thought someone might want the tip. it's alot easier than painting them. and they look great.

you don't have to take the needles off to replace the gauges. and they just go over the top of the old ones. the're pretty easy to install. the hardest part was no one told me which wires to hook them to. hook them to the fog light switch that's the easy route. you can find the wire diagram on shotimes.com under fog light mod. oh also you have to use a peace of tape to hold the new ones in place.

just got my guages from the ebay guy today =)

the look sweet, even look stock, havent gotten them in yet though.

if anyone has the chance to get these, 40 bucks seems to be a steal =P

to whomever has them installed, where did you mount the switch? i was thinking inside the glove box somewhere, or a place out of sight... since i dont want to screw around with the autolamp assembly.

ill keep y'all posted

I got those gauges too! They are awesome. However on my car I had to get rid of the stop pin on the right side of my tach cause the gauges didnt have a hole for them.

As for getting the indiglo gauges to align correctly since they dont have an adhesive backing Mike(MikeyTaurus) used electrical tape on the top tabs to keep the gauges in an aligned position, once we got the overlay on the gauges they aligned great.

I mounted my switch right below the turn signal on the side of the steering columb the 2 self tapping screws went into the plastic very easy. just make sure you check your clearance for the tilt steering to still work. if you guys want a pics of this let me know and I will post one

I was thinking of buying the gauges but thought they would be a pain to install, because don't you have to remove the needles in order to get them on? Or how do they go on?

once you have the dash apart down to the gauge faces, you'll know what to do =)

slide the needle tip through the holes in the new faces, and make sure NOT TO BEND THEM OR THE TABS where they draw theyre power, they should lie flat enough to get the bezel back on

theyre easy to do =) was for me and it was the first time i ever took the dash apart =)

Which wire should I tap into for the power if I have already done the foglight mod. I was thinking that if I tapped into wire #1 that if by some chance I turned off my foglights the gauges would go off to, is that the case?

I was thinking of doing something over at the headlight switch but I'm kinda wary about splicing into that. Anyone know if those wire tap things at the Home Depot would be fine? I mean I don't wnat to light my dash afire.
