Well, I found out i need an oxy sensor to turn my light off. The codes read sensor, and left bank running lean...since this is new to me where and how hard is it to replace? Thanks

Can I use aftermarket( Bosch) or Motorcraft? It's about 20 dollars difference a piece/..

with first and2nd gens theres (2).........im not sure about 3rd gens...........im wantin to say (3) but ive never worked with one so im not 100%

I have a 1992 which i guess is a 2nd gen....and I can tell from the pictures, they look different too....but hey, I guess I can figure out how to change them, if I know where they are....Thanks!

a 92 is a 2nd gen
1st is 89-91
2nd 92-95
3rd 96-99
there SUPER easy to change just get under ur car........look up at ur exhaust manifolds, and ull c the sensors
to change all u gotta to is unclip the wire (follow the sens from the manifold up the wire till u find the plug).........then unscrew the sens from the manifold...........installation is complete opposite........

I'm in Austin, Texas right in the middle of the state. I cany seem to find anyone that knows SHO's to much around here. I've looked for parts at junk yards this week, and they tell me "they have been all crushed years ago" What a shame........

I had one **** of a time getting my rear sensor off. "Super easy" is a bit of a stretch IMO. It wasn't that it was too hard to get to, I just couldn't break the damn thing loose. Do yourself a favor and spray both of them down with PB Blaster once a day for a few days before you go to take them off.

on both the 92 and 95 they came rite off "VERY" little effort or force needed.......both r southern cars tho so that may have an effect

Well, my mechanic told me " the oxy sensor is bad and it says it's running lean in the left bank. Which side is the left bank towards the back or front? I did notice the plug wire was loose in the middle in the back last night. So, do you think that I ran throttle cleaner thru it caused it to trigger the light and codes? Just a thought....

Left bank is on the forward side of the engine (NOT the firewall side), but if you're replacing one you should do the other too unless it's newish. You can clear the codes and check them again yourself too if you want to be sure, but I doubt the cleaner would've caused the code.
Usually when an O2 sensor goes bad the PCM will use the default fuel tables. This would make the car run rich.
What are your codes? It's probably saying the car is running lean and the O2 sensor is working just fine. You need to find out why it's running lean.

I dont know what the codes were. I had the mechanic next door do it. Thats what he told me it said. I going to replace these anyway, probably have never been replaced...IF I can get them off...I pulled a plug and it looked ok just worn down a little...of course THEN I heard a rear brake squeeking when I pulled out of the garage...never stops....
