Hmm....I once had guys from an auto parts store sell me the wrong cap, because mine was shot, and he sold me a 14lb cap instead of the 16lb cap, I might have that backwards I'm not sure, but the other cap was for a vulcan motor, so I said hey, you sold me the wrong cap, he looked in the back, showed me the other one, and that was the one. That was my experience.

I've put 3 different 16lbs radiator caps and I double checked them each time. Not sure about the oil cooler does coolant run through that and where is it located.

Another quick question behind the radiator between it and the motor there is like a miny radiator I think mine is leaking what is the thing it looks to be a power steering fluid cooler is that what it is? I tried to follow the 2 line and couldnt trace it. Does a MTX have a cooler??
Thinking of bypassing it and seeing if my overheating goes away doesnt look like coolant leaking looking like MTX fluid or power steering but neither is low.

if you are talking about the small cooler mounted to the subframe on the drivers side, yes, that is for the power steering. Do not bypass it. It has nothing to do with engine temp.

If you are talking about the cooler that is located IN FRONT of the radiator, behind the grille, that is for the AC system.

are you positive you're clear of vaccum leaks?

my car's similar issue has a tell of a high idle, which i believe is indicative of a vaccum lean and lean (hot) burn.

it idles about 1k when i remember before it sat at 800.

is it possible that a vac leak can cause a lean air/gas mix which leads to so much heat that the stock cooling system eventually is just overwhelmed? i mean my intake is scortching to the touch after a light 10 minute spin around the block.

not sure about that smak my idle sounds fine but my guage doesnt work good enough to be considered accurate it wont even go up till i'm at about 2000 rpms and it reads about 1000 rpms to high cause i hit the rev limiter at 8000 rpms about to get a ricer tach

as for the power steering cooler thats what it is can i pick this up at a murrays or an autozone i dont think i've ever seen a car with a ps cooler before or should i just get a trans cooler and mount that in its place?
