Overheating

So, Yesterday I was driving on the Highway and as soon as got off onto a regular road the car started to overheat. I parked and popped the hood. The Overflow tank was boiling, I let the car cool down and slowly unscrewed the overflow cap.

I started the car and the coolant that was in the Overflow did get pulled into the radiator, I did pour more coolant into the Overflow, I saw what I thought were air bubbles cycling through, the fans kicked on and more fluid came out.

Not sure if the thermostat is opening at this point or not.


Any thoughts?

Have you done anything with the coolant system lately? Check it periodically? Add some? Have the proper coolant? Thermostats last a long time. Just changed mine in SN 95 last week.

Air in the system will cause overheating. Also check the weep hole near the oil filter. Check your oil make sure it's not milky. Please answer Bronco2 questions.

I knew I was due for Coolant Flush, but hadn't checked the levels lately. Connected the SCT to the car it pulled the codes attached. I put more Coolant in it this morning and started it with the heat on and with the Overflow cap off the Coolant did raise up and spill over but the car did not overheat.

The other you know by now is the overheating.

That a P193E error "his DTC sets when the PCM does not receive the A/C enable request from the BCM " what ever that means

Did you have the AC on when it overheated? It may mean the fan didn't kick on and caused it to overheat. I'm just guessing. Try using the AC and see if the fan runs or not. It should actually go to high.
