This issue started last week. My 2010 sho overheats when idling but while driving it seems to work just fine. When I got home, the temperature gauge on the dashboard was showing a normal operating temperature. The fans were not running when I checked under the hood. I checked the fuse and it seemed normal. I am at a lost and need some help on what I should check and what I should do next. Any suggestions?

Do the fans come on when you turn on the A/C?
Alright so I just drove it again. The temparature gauge did shoot up to about 3/4 before it reached overheating, but after pulling over the fans were running and the A/C was running. I drove back without the A/C and when I got home the fans were running good. The temparature was fine too. Do you think it is a sensor issue?

So you know the fans are working. Now you need to find out the temperature that the fans come on, without the A/C, and whether both low speed and high speed work. Should be @205 for low speed and @215 for high speed. You'll need a scan tool to verify this.

I would start looking at radiators......if it is the stock radiator, it is 15 years old now.
