hey guys, i have a 94mtx and i recently replaced the radiator, hoses, and thermostat. After i buttoned everything up, the fan will not come on when the car heats up, the farthest i would let it go was the "n" in normal. This is at stopped at idle. while moving the fan still doesn't come on, but the car stays around the "L" range. i put power on the fan motor and it works, so... any help would be appreciated.

First let it go up to the top end of the normal operating temp bracket. If the fans do not kick on than you probably need to change th ETC (engine coolant temp seensor) as it tells the pcm to turn on the fans via the CCRM (Constant Relay Control Module). The ETC is located to the right of the thermo stat housing (the rearward of the two sensors). If the sensor isn't mab than the CCRM would be the next item to look at. You could turn the AC on MAX AC and it should turn the fans on to help possibly eliminate the CCRM.

I just pulled the codes from my 93 ATX and the fans ramp up and down as part of the code retrieval. You could possibly do that to see if the CCRM is working?

Just a thought,
Michael
