Over Heating

My car over heated the other day, the cooling fan was broken. I replaced it today and it is still over heating, I have a new thermostat but I haven't installed it yet. Could the thermostat be my problem or could the water pump be messed. The water pump isn't leaking so I wouldn't think it’s that.

You said you replaced a broken cooling fan....does it work now?? If not, look at the relay or the fan switch.

Yes a faulty thermostat could cause an overheating problem, as well as a resricted radiator, engine coolant temp sensor(not the one that works the gage) and as indicated did you make sure that the fans are coming on (CCRM controls fans), is it an MTX, they have a seperate belt to drive the water pump.

Probably the Thermostat. That happened to my 91 mocha now she's running fine but not moving. Blew the tranny frown

Sorry I forgot to mention it’s an ATX, and the fans are coming on, I was going to change the thermostat but the car is sitting at my office and was hoping it would make it home. But it didn't.
