Guys and Gals,

I can't find a shop, dealerships included who either want or know how to install these UDP's on this damn car.

Just how hard is it to do? I'm thinking I'll have better luck just trying to do it myself then dealing with these shops that won't do it.

I found one, but they want $300.00 to do the install.

This is just another thing about Tex-ass that I hate, I never had this problem in AZ.

This is so fargin frustrating!!!

The hard part about the alternator pulley is that you might have to drop the subfame a bit to get access. The PS pulley is pretty simple and could be done in about 10 minutes.

"Tex-ass", hmmm, that is not very nice. It has been a great state for me to live in, of course I am a native.

Sergio in Houston at Jerry's Automotive could do that no sweat. I also know the owner of the shop in Stafford that makes most of the pulleys for our cars if you need any more made, he is always up for a challenge. He made my 8-ribbers.

Pardon my anger, Kaotic. I'm just frustrated about this issue and a few others regarding this state. But it's not the state's fault that no one in San Antonio deals with SHO's. Believe me, I've referred to my former homes in similar manners while ****** off.

I thought the same thing about the PS pulley, but these morons said that the PS pulley in particular would take 2 hours of labor to change.

I guess I'll look into this gentleman in Huston, I can't imagine driving all the way there for this, but maybe I'll bring the wife along and make a night out of it.

I'm sure it's hard for the natives to hear me badmouth Texas, but since I'm not a native and since I've lived elsewhere, I can, in my own opinion, say it's better elsewhere. But that is just my opinion, don't pay any attention to it.

Forget all that, can anyone provide me with a number and a general location to this gentleman? I may be paying him and Houston a visit soon if I can't make any headway here.

Sergio can be reached at:

Jerry's Automotive
(281)-999-1461

It really is not that far a drive, I live just north of you near San Marcos and I go down there quite often. Believe me, I trust his abilities and he is the ONLY person that will EVER touch my supercharged sho besides the ones that built it.

I hope all works out for you

No one ever contacted me about it, I asked someone to please tell me what the correct diameter is so I can match it up, if it's wrong, I need to call them and get the correct one sent out to me.

The SHOshop sent me a 2nd pulley that is supposed to fit. It's in town now and should be delivered tomorrow hopefully. I'll get good measurements on both when I get the new one.

I emailed Tom at the SHO Shop asking about stuff like the difference in size and what belt I should use but as expected I got no reply (great friggin customer service). I'm also out $300 for the attempted install of the pullies. I would be willing to bet that the new pullies don't fit either. And if they do I'm sure the belt won't fit.

Kirk, how much room is there for the pulley when compared to stock? I mean is it possible to oversize the alternator pulley without interfering with the case?

However, PrplSHO, since your car is a '96 maybe the pulleys are sized right?

If you guys would try my vacuum accesory killer you would forget about the expense and hassle of UDPs.

And I like Texas they have my ex-wife as a resident. A good 1000 miles away I hope. :)

I'll try your idea as soon as I get a chance. I was thinking about using some relays and a manual switch though. Or maybe using the TPS or whatever the N2O SHOs use to trigger the relays.

Ian, there is plenty of room to oversive the ALT pully, what they "should" have done was make the same pully with a smaller diameter hole to fit the shaft.

Get a claiper and get all the measurements you want and Ill compare it to mine tomorrow night. Make sure you get the hole diameter too.

what I meant is that if they did it right the belt you were shipped in the first place "should"be fine.

In case you guys didn't read it on the V8SHO mailing list, I got ****** over by the SHO Slop again. They sent me another power steering pulley! It doesn't even look the same as the other PS pulley. Obviously made by another machine shop in a hurry. WTF is up with the SHO Shop? I heard bad stories about them but I didn't think they could **** up something as simple as a pulley order.
