Okay, if I may......I was just wondering what Ford intended we put in the engine.

The choices were 5w-20 or 5w-30. It's not like the choices were 5w-20 or 75w-140. I'm not sure there's really THAT much difference between the two choices (5w-20 & 5w-30); I was just wondering which one Ford WANTED us to use, since they seem to contradict themselves between the owners manual and the oil cap.

Sounds like the consensus is to use what's stated on the oil cap. I'm good with that... :)
My understanding was that FMC only switched to the 5W30 for purposes of meeting MPG standards implemented at the time by the EPA upon all mfg'ers to increase mileage.

Nothing more than that.

For all you morons that want to listen to 105 and his lies. I did not say to put thinner oil in the summer and thicker in the winter. THIS is what I said.

Yep I am a liar. I told you use the recommended oil weight from the manufacturer regardless of climate. I mentioned if you were worried get a block heater. However, my story about weight never changed.

Numerous people cited sources, saying a weight change is not necessary. I even posted a direct oil recommendation for the EB 3.5 that specifically that. Yet you don't believe them, and continue to promote your lack of knowledge and spread of misinformation.

I'm fine with that as long as 105 will just **** off with his ******** and stop trying to claim that Wikipedia and sales catalogues are "facts"

I didn't post Wiki or sales catalouges....I post a direct article about the 3.5 EB. Once again, you are wrong. Just like using thinner oil, and just like the noisemaker is a fake BOV.

Thats literally what I was trying to tell 105 yesterday, I told him that the manufacturers don't choose an oil for an engine based on testing or anything its just an industry standard for hp and load ratings. I guess to make everything really easy on everyone ill put it this way. Don't listen to what others tell you to do with your oil. Do your own research and see what the differences are and choose your own oil based on your application. I personally think I drive my vehicles alot harder than the manufactures plan. So I do some things the manufacturer doesn't necessarily tell you to do.

Dude you literally had like 8 links ONE was to the manual, one was to Wikipedia, two were to oil sales catalogues. I didn't bother going through the rest. You yourself and Michigan sho have both agreed about it being a fake BOV just not in those exact terms. Your literally just being a ******** just cause your mad at me.

You did not quote where I said it "works like a BOV" because I never said that, your making shit up and trying to put words in my mouth just like with the oil.

MY ORIGINAL DIRECT QUOTE ABOUT THE NOISEMAKER
"Its essentially a fake BOV, it was meant to sound like one," it goes on from there if anyone wants to go back and read it in itd entirety. Sorry Mr 105 but when exactly did I say the noisemakers works like a BOV?

On a much lighter (no pun intended) note....

I laughed at how this young lady chose to dispense her oil. Betcha she thinks her motor will appreciate it. Ha!View attachment 14342

Omg you really are stupid dude. I explained that the noisemaker is a fake BOV in the sense of making noise like one and the recirc can be capped to work like a fake BOV. IT IS NOT ACTUALLY A BOV it just works like one. So hence me saying fake BOV. Now does your ******* understand?

Let me break this down for you. The noisemaker redirects engine noises to the driver compartment.

It does not release air (unless it is leaking) in any fashion like a BOV at all.

Explain to me how exactly does it "redirect engine noise to the cabin" if it has no physical contact with the cabin, and allows no air to escape.

You can direct noise without releasing air. Think about humming into a small cup as a crude example. The engine noise/harmonics carried by the air hit the end of the cup, redirect and travel back to the source. A person on the other side of the cup will hear it.

Same thing with the noisemaker. It sends sound up to the cone in baffles, and redirects the air back down into the intake tract. If on the throttle while creating noise if the noisemaker was releasing air that would be a boost leak. Noisemakers are known to leak boost at their base. They are only held on my a C-Clip. This is why people remove them.

Noisemaker directs harmonics to the cabin, BOV yeets excess boost from the intake tract. Two completely different things.

From BPD1151 years ago.

FMC's sole purpose in placing that piece on the SHO platform, was to help (literally) direct noise towards the passenger compartment to provide a more "sporty" noise experience.
