The Ford dealer in MA put 5w-30 synthetic blend in my 2015 non-PP SHO last month (and I didn't specify what engine oil to use).
The owner's manual for my 2015 SHO says 5w-20 for the non-turbo 3.5L engine and 5-w30 for the 2.0L ecoboost and 5w-30 for the "3.5L V6 Super High Output (SHO) engine." Synthetic blend and full synthetic are specified for all engines.
There's a warranty. I see no reason not to use what is specified.
Also, I've been driving turbo cars in Connecticut since 2002. It doesn't get super cold here, but does get chilly and snowy as well as 100-Farenheity. 5w-30 was never too thick or too thin.
I'd stick with fully synthetic 5w30. Next question is Castrol, Mobil One, or other?
Cheers,
Sean
