I have the shonut oil pump gasket for my new 3.2, it just a paper gasket. Should I put a thin coat of RTV on it or just bolt it up as it is? I obviously don't want to do this twice, so i want the first and only time to seal perfectly.

Thanx, Doug

dry is sufficient, as the factory gasket is installed dry.

Is this for the pick-up tube to oil pump housing seal? Or the actual oil pump to block? If there are any scratches from where you or a prior owner had tried to remove the old gasket, I would reccomend a thin layer on both sides of the paper gasket.

This is for the actual oil pump to block gasket. The block has been completely rebuild and was tanked before, so the block portion is perfect. However, the pump as some slight scratching from removing the old gasket. So, I should use a thin (real thin) amount of RTV?

I was going to install the pickup tube gasket dry, sould I add a small amount of sealant there also?

Yes I would. A very thin layer, so thin that when you torque the bolts down, nothing squeezes out.
