Well this is Part-II of my story. Well I have been contacted by someone who saw my problem, and is offering to sell me their Oil Pump off of an engine they had, it had 88,000K on it, and he said the it was in good working order. any opinions out there, the pro is obvious, anybody out there who has had to do this before, was force to replace the Oil Pump but couldn't find a new one and went with a used one. thanks

Unfortunately, that`s what we`re becoming forced to do with a growing number of parts for our cars.I have doubts as to how long we`re going to be able to keep them running with basic parts such as oil pumps, bearings, etc becoming obsolete.
The only thing i can say to help you is are you 100% sure it`s the oil pump,as they rarely fail in this car.

Ask whoever it is if they mind if you mention their name on the forum to get some feedback as to the quality of the stuff they sell and their reputation as a seller. 99% of the folks here are good, honest people, so the chances of getting ripped off are pretty slim.

An 88K oil pump shouldn't give you any trouble -- heck some people are running close to 300K on their original pumps! :)

Just heard from Al Fitz, he doesn't sell used oil pumps, said I should go with a new one only. Anyone out there has gone used, it's not like you have any choice, if there are none out there.

How do you know your oil pump needs to be replaced? Are you seeing the red OIL light? Not likely the pump, but worn bearings.
