While I was changing one my O2 sensors I noticed on my oil pan (rear side) there is a line going into it that is beginning to crack right where it meets the oil pan. I have NO idea what this is nor is my car leaking oil...but I am not sure what this line does or goes to...I'm trying to prevent a problem. It looks like it goes around the oil pan to the right/front of the car.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

The only attachments to the oil pan are the oil level sensor on the rear face and to the passenger side of the drain plug and the stock exhaust bracket mounted to the rear passenger corner (at least on the MTX). The oil level sensor has an electrical connection to it, but no oil "line." If there is actually an oil line connected to the oil pan, it was installed by an owner and not by Ford. If it is in fact an oil line, you will have to follow its path and do a little investigative work on your own. Curious.

Thanks for your reply. The line seems to be saturated with oil right where it meets the oil pan, which is why I might think it is an oil line. I didn't notice any sensor attached to it. It might as well be the level sensor. I will take a pic soon and keep you updated.

The sensor is inside the oil pan. And it's usually real oily on the outside, common leak item.

If the leakage is occurring at the junction of the sensor and the pan, all you need is the gasket.

V6 Oil Level Sender Gasket E9DZ-6C626-A Around $3.25 at a Ford Dealer. Call to check if available.
