Oil Leak?

My car is leaking something on the drivers side right on the inside of wheel on a cross member. I think its oil. Its been doing it for about 5 days now, I noticed a fresh slick about 3x3 inches that had developed over the last few days. My mechanic says it might be tranny fluid, or a leak from the rear main seal. He is gunna clean it up, start it up and see where its coming from. How much will a rear main seal cost me? I know the part is cheap as **** but how many hours of labor usually take?

check your steerin rack, i thought i was leaking tranny fluid but it ended up being my steering rack leaking. As far as the labor to replace that seal im nto sure but its not going to be cheap, do it yourself
