sounds like the front crankshaft seal, or cam seals, oil pan seal, might be time for a front 60k

i've got the same damn thing. i just replaced the cam seal behind the CPS, but it's still doing it's own oil changes. i'm gonna rip the front of the engine apart monday and see what i can find.

I have an oil leak in that same area. I thought it was the main or cam seals but it is the rear valve cover. The oil stream came from the cover and flowed under the CID and onto the top of the cats making it smoke. Its sometimes hard to find oil leaks because they can take so many different paths. Put your hand under the CID sensor and see if you feel any oil.

Not quite, but it's still spittin it out pretty good. I know it's not the valve cover cuz I just resealed it. Neither of the other cam seals are showing oil on em, so I'm just gonna tear apart the front of the engine and figure out where the **** it's coming from.

I had the same exact problem and after doing a front 60K and oil pan gasket, it still leaked and was getting worse :madflame:. I was dumb founded but after doing some searching on here, I found it to be the oil pressure sensor was cracked that resides in the back of the block . The threaded part to it had a hairline crack, but it was enough to gush oil out under higher revs.

It requires the Y-pipe to come off to get at unless you have super skinny stretch armstrong arms. It's a cheap part you can get at most autoparts stores iirc.

Just be careful not to break the plug off of the wire that goes onto it because, as I found out, it's one wire and very brittle. I ended up having to go to the junkyard to find a new pig tail and crimp it on.

Later I also found my cam position sensor seal was leaking too after the CPS started to fail on me, which may have also contributed to oil on the cats.
