Oil leak parts?

I changed my oil today and I noticed that on the oil pan on the side next to the tranny there was some oil residue and also straight back from that point on the subframe. It appeared to be coming from the gap in between the oil pan and the bottom of the tranny. Anyone else have this problem, or know of a problematic gasket or seal on this side of the crank? My oil was down about a 1/2 quart from my last oil change. I run Motorcraft 5W-30 synthetic, Motorcraft FL-400S, and Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment with every oil change. Any help is greatly appreciated and needed.

My car is going in for a clutch job in about 2 months. I'm assuming that this will be highly accessible during the clutch removal. Is there a possiblity of another seal leaking in that same area?

The flywheel will have to be removed but I couldn't think of a much better time to have it done. The only other seals right there is for the input shaft on the tranny but that is probably not a problem area and the oilpan gasket.

That lightweight synthetic oil is not helping your oil leakage rates.

Sdpatt, if I were to run 10w30 synthetic, would that help any? My dad(car mechanic of 35 years) has told me before that synthetic oil will find leaks in an engine easier because of how slippery it is. And I've noticed your car featured on this site with 256k miles, that's incredible!!! For reference, what oil do you use? Ever use any oil treatments? Thanx in advance, you guys are always extremely helpful for us less experienced in the ways of the SHO.
