It depends on how comfortable you are with working on your car. The intake manifold has to be removed in order to get to the plug well seals that are leaking. This is a common problem with SHO's that have not had the 60k service done or are in need of another service. You may want to look into doing this service while you have things apart.

Go to www.shonutperformance.com to see the cost of replacing the plug well gaskets. Good luck.

Yep, plug well seals...very common. DIY is not hard at all. Get Mark Nunally's 60k video and he walks you thru the whole thing. Well worth the $20. Get the fel pro gasket set. Best price seems to be autozone. You may consider doing the valve service and intake cleaning while in there. Use the search button and you'll find a million posts on 60k service and oil in plug wells.

Get in touch with Mark himself here forum name drivinhard. I think you can order it from sho nut also. The fel pro gaskets are hard to find the fel pro part # is vs50378 r. Best place for the recommended plugs and wires is fordpartsnetwork.com.

Order the Fel-Pro VS50378R seal set from AutoZone.com for $71.99. You may have to look it up for a 1991 SHO in the "External Engine -> Valve Cover Gasket" path.

The set is the same for the ATX and MTX but at Autozone it is not listed under the ATX (atleast for the 95). Just have them look up the MTX and it is there.

I paid a hundred bucks and change for the wires at ACME. AZ couldn't get them. ACME wanted a ridiculous amount for the gaskets, but , when I told them that I could get'em from AZ for 72 bucks they matched it.

Did I pay too much for the motorcrap wires?
