Alternatively you can use a strap wrench, that you can get from pretty much any autoparts place. Also, make sure you turning in the RIGHT direction. I believe your turning counterclock wise looking at the front windshield from the front bumper. If your underneath the car, with your legs pointed toward the front bumper, your gonna be turning clockwise. Correct me if i'm wrong, good luck!

You might need to pick up an oil filter wrench which should give you the leverage you need. Should be available at any auto parts store. Good luck.

Get ****** and get those muscles workin'....it will come off...it just needs some "motivation".

Or you can take a screw driver, punch it through the filter, and then use the screw driver as leverage to get it off. Dont use this theory for putting on the new filter though...:nono:

old school trick, but make sure the engines cool first..

hammer a long screwdriver into the end of the filter. will get messy but at least you will have leverage to turn counter clockwise.

actually do this method right and you may not spill oil all over the starter for a change.

dont waste your money on any fancy smancy filter tool do it the hill billy way. take off your belt (must be leather) wrap it around the filter. make sure you are pulling against the buckle. place the buckle on top or farthest away from you on the filter and now you have a long strap to tug on itll break it loose guarenteed. ive used this method on the sho, and several other vehicles that had "stuck" oil filters. :thumb:

Typically the arrows on an oil filter pointing in the direction it gets threaded when you install it, not when you take it off.

Is it the K&N filters that have a hex boss on the top for removing with a ratchet? Doesn't help you in removing the old one, but looking forward...
